Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida hosts Robot Rally at Citi Teen Center

On Saturday, Feb. 11, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida hosted the Robot Rally at our Citi Teen Center in Springfield, marking the first time the organization hosted a qualifying tournament.

This event was held in partnership with STEM2 Hub and FIRST LEGO League as an official Northeast Florida Regional Qualifier where 13 Boys & Girls Clubs robotics teams competed with the top team advancing to the FIRST LEGO League Regional Competition.

Each team completed four 2.5-minute robot game runs using their robot to interact with the gameboard to complete missions or challenges. After the initial practice round, each team's highest score from the next three runs determined their ranking in the Robot Game Performance.

Teams also participated in a 30-minute judging session where they were scored on Core Values, Robot Design and Innovative Project.

Scores from all four sections, Robot Game Performance, Core Value, Robot Design and Innovative Project, were added together to determine the Qualifier Champions and the team that would advance to the FIRST LEGO League Regional Competition.
